A Brief Overview of the Kala Empire


The Kala Empire is a collection of formerly neutral colonies that span across twenty-four closely-knit sectors in the Southwest Quadrant. Chancellor Cincor Kala formed the Empire in the early 2670s and continues to lead it through progressive stages of construction. The primary military division of the government is the Kala Navy, followed closely by the Kala Air Force and the Kala Marine Force.

The government rules by the Chancellor and the Senate. The Senate operates with 100 members, with four members elected from each of the twenty-four sectors, and two additional members from both home sectors. Although elected local government representatives speak at Senate and Command hearings, there is no special office for the scattered planetary representatives in the Empire. Each planet, however, may establish and organize their respective local governments differently within their own boundaries, as long as they keep within established Kala interplanetary laws.

Kala Central Intelligence, or KCI, is one of the larger authoritative bodies in the Empire. Along from military officers, Intelligence units operate within every division as "equals," but they often have their own agendas within the Naval and Marine corps and ultimately report to the Intelligence Department of Kala Command and the Intelligence Director, instead of the generic military command structures. KCI manages its own military forces separately and frequently, as well, but their numbers are not included in any published documents, nor are their activities publicized.
